Ordered this online, food came frozen one container was a bit cracked at the top but still frozen solid. Had another couple over to try it out. Wow is all I can say, the taste blew us all away. The best ever, don't miss out on this if you want some great Cajun cooking. 5 stars in our book.
Just had our first Crawdad Etouffee, WOW is all I can say. Sure was good, a bit spicy for me but everyone else just loved it.
I lived in south Louisiana for 26 years, crawfish etouffee is by far my favorite food. This is the best thing that is sold on this site. Comes in a frozen small plastic tub, dethaw for an hour then dump it in a pot on low heat. Cajun grocier also sells their own 32 oz etouffee for a bit cheaper, it’s good but poche’s is better.
I’d never tried Crawfish Etoufee prior to trying Poche’s!!! I still remember my 1st bite!!! I thought I’d died and gone to HEAVEN!!! The spices were nicely balanced against the heat which seems to increase with every bite but NEVER becomes overpowering!!! The consistency is rich and hearty and COMPLETELY satisfying!!!!! Since I had enjoyed Poche’s Etoufee so much, I have ordered Etoufee from several “Cajun” restaurants expecting it to be, at the very least, enjoyable!!!! To say I’ve been BEYOND disappointed would be a HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!! I’ve returned EVERY bowl to the kitchen as TOTALLY UNPALATABLE!!!!! If I had to rate their Etoufee compared to Poche’s, it would be like comparing eating the MOST DELICIOUSLY DECADENT cheese cake with chocolate ganache sauce to eating cardboard!!!!!! Do yourself immense favor and order this Etoufee at your EARLIEST CONVENIENCE!!!!! I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!
