Cafe Du Monde Beignet Mix, 28 oz (Pack of 12)
Here in New Orleans nothing goes better with cafe' au lait than our beignet mix. Beignets are puffy square French doughnuts covered in powdered sugar.
Our exclusive Café du Monde beignet mix makes up to four dozen French doughnuts (beignets). The modern-day beignet, also known as a fried fritter, is a traditional square of fried dough that’s covered with powdered sugar. You can choose to place a signature twist on these delectable morsels by filling the beignets with fruit, chocolate, peanut butter, hazelnut spread, or any filling worthy of their sugary goodness. This Café du Monde beignet mix would be the perfect gift for anyone who could skip dinner and move straight to dessert. Ingredients include enriched wheat flour, enriched barley flour, milk, buttermilk, salt, sugar, leavening, and tons of flavor. At Cajun Grocer, we are committed to delivering New Orleans straight to your doorstep. Take a stroll down the French Quarter with us and place your order today!
Can you reheat beignets? Warm before serving. Beignets are best freshly made but can be fried 2 hours ahead and kept, loosely covered, at room temperature. Reheat beignets (they should not touch) on a rack set in a large shallow baking pan, uncovered, in a 325°F oven until hot, 15 to 20 minutes.
Café du Monde Beignets were also brought to Louisiana by the Acadians. These were fried fritters, sometimes filled with fruit. Today, the beignet is a square piece of dough, fried and covered with powdered sugar.
